Very true but it can become tiring & frustrating for some of us guys that have been on here for the past 10+ yrs, that are scraping late 20's - early 30's & have seen all the passing trends die a death, not to throw a wobbler when some young pup posts something daft about neon sideskirt mounted landing lights or whatnot.

The main issue on here is a large proportion of the people on here have outgrown the brand but still love the clubhouse.

We need to move onto something else at the end of the day, we need to be rehomed!

Change it and you will lose most corsa people. Non corsa people will just slate like they do now. I'd go back to all corsa. I don't want to. But why should a corsa owner posting on a corsa site interested in corsas be forced out by people that don't like them?

Allcorsa.co.uk it's a dedicated site.

Without sounding too cheesey its not the bricks and mortar that make a home .. If all the non-corsa owners fudged off this place would die a death.

Id say there isn't, there is an appreciation of one style and one mindset and if you dont fit into it we aren't interested in having you on the site.

Infact if i posted up the car i first posted up when in joined now im sure it would be slated to fuck because it had 17" chrome wheels, angel eyes, a big stereo and it was a 1.2, and then i wouldnt have stuck around and met the mates i have done. Which would have been a shame because ive made loads of mates through this site, just think of all those other potentially decent people we have put off because they didnt fit the mould of CS.

i also think the age of the car has something to do with it, if people bought a brand new car and did all those mods people/the internet would love it, I don't think the scene has died, just moves on.

like the chap who bought a new scirocco, lowered it and painted the wheels white, people thought it was so amazing, it did look nice, but only because it hadn't been seen before. Give it a few years and painted wheels on the scirocco just won't cut it

I love it on here, have used it since 2001 and don't see myself stopping anytime soon. I've got a proper old man motor now but I still love the thought of a mental corsa; its good to see how people have moved on and what they're doing now, cars, personally, professionally etc.

you could argue that its intended for only people with Corsa Sports if you wanted to be very pedantic

Just add another section to the site and keep everything no Corsa related in there and try to promote both, there's plenty of Corsas here it's just getting them to participate more. The recent RR day I orgainsed had a fair few Corsas but an equal amount of non Corsas, it was still a good day.

Without a doubt it would from the off but it might pick up with new corsa interested people joining up....or it may not, but then as I said before Im not interested in the forum name its the community & a few other things I enjoy so as long as that re-group's elsewhere what happens here doesnt really concern me a great deal, whatever happens its better than having a lost identity as it has now though, yes?.

I totally agree its lost its identity but I dont think there would be enough 'new members' to warrent going 'corsa only' because there are so many other sites dedicated to the model so you'd end up with a dead corsa sport and some site in limbo which would slowly dissapear.

For all these people saying corsa owners don't use the site - have a look in help zone and see how many there are.

All it takes is for someone to ask a question in the wrong way on here for them to get slated. I'd agree with what someone said about that sort of behaviour being the biggest thing putting new people off.

The sad fact is (and as I belive Colin mentioned) most members are not Corsa owners (see Paul_J's thread) and they've been there, done it and got the t-shirt so when someone asks which could be considered a "stupid question" for the millionth time people get a little upset... Its just human nature!

I for one would be up for giving WR its due's, if a bit of work is put into the site to make it a lot more attractive to use. The gradually phase out my use on here, eventually deleting my account. I really would. Im 110% more interested in track/weekend cars than I am corsa's, so if we can have what we have here over there but without any corsa's then whats noty to make it work??

I think the other problem with the whole 'move to WR' is that I don't want to 'live' at a site all about track days...

I like doing track days, but prefer the banter / car chat on CS.

For example I like nurburgring, but I couldn't live on 'North Loop' the best nurburgring forum... People just get too 'elitist' and the atmosphere becomes to harsh for friendly banter.

The same 'elitist' feel happens on every 'track day orientated' site I've ever used.

I think the only way Ian will end up with a really popular site, is if he shuts down WR, picks a new more generic name (like pistonheads) and has a track day section in it.

Then most non corsa users move to the new 'generic' site which looks and feels just like CS. The solely WR people move to the track section of the new site and CS can remain on itself functioning as a solely Corsa related site.

Spot on, by just changing the name the same people will still come here and it opens the doors to potentially more people joining up.

The downside I suppose is the stigma attached to Corsas will beome more pronounced with an influx of generic car owners.

What it boils down to is, would you not rather grow than stick with Corsas limiting yourself? Maybe incorporate a track day section alongside or within General chat?

The days when Corsa's were cool and young people people were willing to take loans out to buy newish ones are long gone so move with the time IMO Also with several regions unless you up the memberships the regional meets are going to stay small. When the regions were bigger and meets were known to be potentially large people would be willing to travel. Opening the forum up potentially could imporve regional meets too I reckon.

Ironically even during this debate Weekend Racer has had about 10 threads replied to today (about 20 posts maybe?) and this thread alone is has probably had 100+ replies today

Well the only reason there is that level of activity on WR is due to the recent event.

I don't know if i'm alone in this but i like the wide variety that CS has to offer. I apprieciate the corsa as much as the next person but i couldn't just sit on a forum dedicated to it. Thats why the mixure of threads ranging from "my new car" that isn't a corsa, the nurburgring threads to corsa threads pull me back to this site day in day out. If this site seperates to allow the corsa to take to the lime light and everything else goes elsewhere then CS won't be such an enjoyable place to spend time.
