I'm losing 700 on rio on bunch of shares so I bought some more at the lower rate to try and offset loss if they do go up not sure whether that's a good move or not

Probably not great, so if you are long both the shares and the CFDs, if the price continues to drop you will lose on both.

If you had shorted the CFDs, you would have partially hedged your shares, because if the price drops, you would lose out on the shares but you would profit on the CFDs to make up for it.

That's far from a perfect hedge, but it's a start.

It's all good made my money back the shares dropped big time this morning so matched what I had already bought just sold the 1st set of shares for 200 profit and the matches shares for 600 profit so equalled it's self out Barclays made me 400 as well but then I am only playing With the demo money at the moment lol

Came out £4k up on the Euro sales, bought at 1.314, sold at 1.30.

Going to watch it back up as soon as Spain goes for their rescue deal, ordered some at 1.297 when for it opens on Sunday night, to close at 1.34 next week.

If that comes off I'm going to real money right there

Did u hit your margin call?

I lost 50 quid on this. Due to ANR, so withdrew the other 50 and left it.

Cant really trade between 7-6 now due to new job so wasnt really worth it for me.

Started with the demo £20k

Mostly just been buying and selling EUR/USD, sell when there are bad news reports and buy when there are good ones. Nothing spectacular.

Current equity is £44k.

Wondering whether to switch to real money yet.
