Sucked today on the road. 8:54 average over the same run I got an 8:10 average on last week which is 7 miles. Just wasn't feeling it at all sadly. Keep trying.

Went for another run with my mate earlier. We did 5.2km off road. The route we did they have closed a bridge off so we had to double back on ourselves and cross a river which made us stop a couple of times. Slightly quicker pace than last time and in total took us 32min. Including stopping to cross roads etc. My mate said it was a lot easier than last week and I'm feeling I could run a lot further.

Real running or treadmill?
Outside, I hate the treadmill as it caused my shin splints a few months ago

I started at 12.5 and increased it to 14 then ran at 15 for a bit before reducing towards the end.
I think I am pretty much ready for the 5km mud run we have planned.

You'll smash it easy, is it a Tough Mudder or something similar?

I did 3.5km in 18 last night. Was knackered from work and stuck at 12.5 instead of going at 15.

Just a case of chipping away. Take 10/15 seconds off each long run and you'll find yourself knocking down the times.

23:37 for treadmill 5k tonight. Had a rest for 2 mins then did 2.5k in 11:32. Happy with that considering I was out on a mtb ride after work in the lakes last night. Definitely getting fitter. Aim for a sub 23 min 5k by end of April.

Ran 10km this morning for the first time in my life. Most i'd done before that was 6.7km in November last year and only done 1 run since which was a couple of weeks ago at 3.5km.
Managed to do it in 57m 49s.

If you guys wanna improve your run times, intervals and hill sprints will boost progression massively.
Anything that leaves you coughing up your lungs afterwards will help you run for distance at a faster pace

its a good idea really although where I normally run is quite hilly anyway. The joys of Cumbria.
