To go round the beam, probably 90-100mm.

Look in the 1990s RS Turbo section

Manifold has captive nuts but they're rusty and in the way. Going to drill them out. No major biggie but we were tired and annoyed and that's not a good combo when you're under a car doing metalwork.

U clamps, I think, are sorted, they're sat on my passenger seat as I type

Guy's coming tomorrow to take the windows out. ETA of Friday for the CDS although I'm due a phonecall tomorrow to confirm that one so hopefully if Ste's available, the cage should be done this weekend

The optimism is returning now

That's another few jobs soon to be signed off although I'm out this weekend so you may need to brave the grinder.

Just mind your fingers, and your eyes, and anything easily flammable

TBH I'm more concerned about the quite expensive, 6-10 day lead time CDS, don't wanna be making a mess of that

I'd usually opt for the latter but if it's just me and Ste then it'll probably be Ste measuring and welding, me cutting

Anyway, the remaining CDS was sent out today and is due tomorrow, which will be very good, or Monday morning, which won't be very good

Windows have been removed so that should mean that paint is getting close I think it'll be a big relief once it's painted purely because it's a big job that's out of my hands. After paint the only real worry I think, is the aux belt issue

Edit: 22 days

If we're really stuck we can put a PAS pump back on.

The pump will be really noisy and might lockup after not very long as the pas fluid lubes it too.

Top bracket seems to be the best idea if you can make something.

After adding some bracing, I now have a 13 point cage

Second diagonal is being welded as I type then there's harness bars, rear strut brace and door bars left to do.
