Heard on the radio Apple market share fallen from 17% to 14%,, Samsung are the market leaders, the last time Apple launched a revolutionary market changing product was 2010 with the iPad, and this new iPhone 5C costs is a lot higher than people were expecting

I was really up for buying a 'cheap' iPhone 5c if it was circa £300...

Even bigger margins on it that the 5S. Getting a bit greedy.

A second hand iphone 5 at £250-300 is looking like a good buy since Apple won't be selling them anymore.

Apples market share is going down and will continue to go down. The major reason for this is because they don't do a simple free OS. There is a large proportion of people out there with an android 'smartphone' who have absolutely no interest in it being a smartphone all they want is a phone but it just happens its driven by android. It could be symbion or anything else for all they care.

Why do people always say this? For starters that fingerprint sensor is bloody impressive technology; have you ever used any of the older generation attempts that some manufacturers put on laptops?

OrRob does have a point to be fair. The improvements aren't that big when you compare it to the build up for the announcement. IE it warrants a news story on news websites.

Impressive, but its not a lot different from a 5. Just like the 5 wasn't a huge leap from the previous model.

the strategy of bringing out a new model every 6-12 months is like when Man United would bring out a new shirt every away game too!

12 months is a pretty long time between models really, and to say this is an "s" rather than a complete redesign I think it has quite a few good new features. The camera seems very impressive to me, slow-mo video in HD is pretty cool and the ability to take 10 quick shots and pick the best will be handy, especially when trying to get a good shot of the kids.

Typical 'it's not a flying car' comments, people are never happy. Fingerprint sensor alone blows everything else away. Even last years model is still ahead of everything else on the market today.

Has anyone used this sensor yet to determine if it works 100% everytime and is as secure as a 4 digit pin?

Be mad if it didn't work well though. I can't see it being poor.

i dont think thay are trying to say its more secure than a passcode protection etc, but better than nothing which they say 50% of people (non-enterprise) currently use a sprotection. also the pay with touch is good too

As I said earlier in this thread, any company even remotely bothered about security would use fingerprint scanning as part of two-factor authentication, meaning it would be needed along side a password/pincode.

Its not better than nothing if it doesnt work every time, or it requires fiddling around with finger positions. Nothing at least works everytime.
