Good work on the bluetooth fitting, but, why the hallway? I'd want it in the rooms?

I wanted it in the bathroom, but my missus was on about wanting to hear it in the study and also generally when shes hoovering and cleaning the house, so I put it there

Be worth fitting one in the kitchen for when she's making you a sandwich.

Looks like the builders are doing the usual corner cutting and fitting spurs down to sockets rather than a complete ring.
Not sure I will be as brave with our new build in terms of cutting holes in the walls

From what I have seen so far, all others have been on a ring apart from this one.
I think its because they put an additional socket on the floor below to the original plans but on the same line, so they spurred off that one.
I imagine apart from this one the rest are on a ring.

Taped and jointed, no plaster. That's when you know your new home was thrown together.

Looks good, you keep saying 'chiselled' out the wall, i've found a stanley knife is faster, less messy and neater. hth
I would rather lose by a mile because i built my own car, than win by an inch because someone else built it for me.

Saying that, the TV wall did need a chisel because there were dabs in the line we needed to run on

Fitted a speaker switch so we can turn the bluetooth sound off in certain rooms, or on everywhere

Today I cut the lawn for the first time

Then found a mains ring in the loft so cut into that and added a socket into it for the loft, will be used to power a masthead amp for the tv

Seems to work alright and hasnt caught fire yet

Then cut some holes in the bedroom ceiling

To fit downlights

Need to order some downlight guards before i can put the insulation back over

Changed the halogen bulbs for some gu10 LEDs

They are dimmable too so will get a dimmer turn knob perhaps tomorrow

Impressive. However could you not just spec stuff like that in the first place?
Dimmable downlights in my bathroom would be really handy actually, never thought of that. I wonder if you can get Hue, I'm trying to gradually convert the whole place... got three rooms done now.
