paintwork might be crap now anyway after being soaked in about 5 litres of tesco 99. will investigate later if i can be bothered.

vauxhall cant get the seal i need until next week so im off scrap yard after work to get one. Also need the plastic cover that goes in the boot floor as i seem to have lost it. Then time to go do a bit more driving in it. Kinda missed not being able to wheelspin everywhere for the last couple of months.

me and the slick went to scrap yard and got a new fuel tank top seal and biscuit tin lid



fitted the lot so now no leaks. nice. the some random pics of the shed. still needs a wash and bit tidy up but decided it was more important to go for some driving now it doesnt leak fuel. ken.

i find it hard to describe how much more grip the car has. the front tyres are made by barum and are cheap things. it was gripping in 3rd quite happily. cornering is miles better. overall, the cage has really made it a different car to drive.

cool. tomorrow will give it a wash and a polish if i get chance.

On another note is your oil cooler bolted direct to the cross member or is it mounted on rubber bobbins?

i am seriously considering giving it a wash and maybe a polish today.

one thing that is causing me beef is i must have left an earth off when putting wiring loom back in as the temp gauge doesnt work, and a couple of times yesterday the fuel gauge dropped to 0. which was quite frightening after the midweek incident.

still got some wiring to tidy up, and need to wire up the pas pump again. must have chopped ignition live to it by mistake. oops.

just quite happy to have it back on the road tbh.
