to much heat im guessing. i think it happened at 110 he said i had another customer that done the same in his 2.0 at 120

blocks all painted and valves all cleaned up. gta clean the head then build it back up etc

i was under the impression that a 1.4 head has smaller ports than a 1.6 one...

are the valves the same. if so il just put them in my spare 1.6 head. was thinking of doing some home made headwork

yeah, the valves are the same, the ports are smaller though

you'd sort of have a 16XEL

should be 31mm on the inlet and 27.4mm on the exhaust.

according to SBD, they are the same for both engines, and the C16XE head is the best for flow

lifted the block in tonight so it give me more room on my garage floor as theres engines everywhere. which will help me work on customers cars with some more space.

not much of an update as ben so busy. rebuilt the head, cleaned all valves etc and bolted it down. hopefully cams will be in this week and all timed up again ready to run
