Ive not read all 14 pages but I think this has been blown way out of proportion, couple things have been said but to me 'I wish she would go home' means I wish she would get the f.k out the BB house & go to wherever she comes from....would this be any different if said to one of the americans in the house??? No dont think so!! Calling her shilpa popadom is a bit funny, I forget peoples names all the time & just make something up to relate to them....no harm done!! Nope I think this is the race card being played in its finest hour!!! People gang up & pick on eachother on this show every time its on....whats different this time is the person getting the brunt of it is of a different race & they cant handle it. If you cant handle what someone has to say then dont do these type of shows simple!!

and do you think that it was racism or bullying in the BB house?
In all honesty i believe it to be total ignorance of another persons culture and very large part bullying. Yes the comments said in the house can be interpreted as racist BUT i feel that jades popadom comment has just been picked on too much. Far worse comments have come from Jo and Danielle ( jo with the indians are so thin because they under cook their chicken and Danielle i think she should f**k off home.) who both have another week to redeem themselves. If Big Brother had confronted this issue long before it would not have reached this point and this race issue could have been avoided.
I mean growing up in the UK its almost impossible not to encounter racism in any part of your life and everyone just has to deal with it. There is no one single society in the world that doesnt suffer from it. In everyday life the comments made by those in the house would be shrugged off and be meaningless but in the eyes of the public and the comfort of thier own homes people are saying its racism. This is almost like being a keyboard warrior if you wont stand for it on tv why stand for it in real life. In my opinion it has been blow out of proportion but does identify day to day life for everyone.

Just because Jade didn't see it as being racist doesn't mean that it wasn't.

If all 21534 CS members complain it might get a small mention in the daily record...........Jade Goony will still be page one though
Its a fucking joke.....any excuse to wave the race card!!!

Because she doesnt know about the uproar thats been caused & infact is neither more civilised nor racially tactfull than the other housemates
America doesnt have a race card to wave.....it will go un noticed!!

No its because the western world have a sense of humor & indians/other eastern nations dont!!
example - Shilpa popadom is racist to the highest degree & really offensive, if an indian called me Colin Pasty I would laugh...alot

Steve, Shilpa never complained about the racism, it's the public who complained. They don't know what's going on in the real world at present.
So the public should also complain about the others behaviour.
The complaints came from the public, not shilpa...

the complaints are all from people who jumpe don the bandwagon, as they heard thats what everyone was doing.
If it wasnt on the news about the 3 complaints then noone else would have bothered.
Its tripe, race card should work both ways, however this country seems to like screwing 'white' people over.

It is a clear example of double standards though i agree. If they were there trying to imitate the indian womens accent you can guarentee some people would see that as racist. But because he is american its not, even if they were imitating Jermaine Jackson as a black American it wouldn't be classed as racism. I think the point made about certain cultures sense of humour is valid looking at that point.

Dirk is now getting bullied. Difference is that Shilpa is actually telling them not to do that to Dirk. She told cleo not to and made a concious effort to stop him from gettin bullied as did Jermaine. At no point did anyone in the house try and stop Jade from having a go at Shilpa or tell the "group" that what they were doing was wrong. Only when big brother intervened
As abdus said shilpa DIDNT complain about the racism the public did AND you dont even know if all complaints were about racism or bullying.
People there was more to the racism claims than the tiny shilpa popadom comment.
i was very pissed off at how dirk was being treated its almost as if cleo has taken jades place and become the new bully in the house. Only time will tell how the public reacts.
