some more work on the tiles.... grey grout.

Stripped the two ornate facings further, sanded etc then bleached them a bit. They will now be able to be stained to match the rest of the light/medium oak thats planned for the room. The facings are pitch pine by the way.

and started stripping the back of the bedroom door. Also pitch pine.

the flat next door to us (same as ours) had a closing date on Tuesday and offer accepted.
Has only been on the market 2 weeks, so will be good to see what price they got for it

Our street is crazy....the house across the road from us was on the market for a week. Offers over £650k, sold for £865k

Nuts...must be because we live there!

is it the varnish/paint remove?
http://www.henkel-technical-services.co.uk/PDF/TDS/10374TD.pdf
you need to neutralise the spirit based nitromorse paint remover with METHELATED SPIRIT......................NOT white spirit.

If you use the wter base nitromorse (i thinks its GREEN off the top of my head) you neutralise that with water.... COLD.. not hot/warm as it gives off Phosgene gas when heated.. ie: Mustard gas!!!!

aye, meths is prob better

Stove register plate ordered after the pipes arived and we could measure up what was needed.

Just bought some 'new' facings for the bedroom. A left, a right and another damaged right to cut down for the top. £50 from salvege place. Not as bold/big as our ones, but they are much better than the ones in the bedroom at the moment. They'll need stripped back too.

some work on the bedroom...

Door nearly ready for finishing.... wood bleach didnt seem to do much, and ran out... so just ordered more.

Stripped the new facings.... really like these ones, they are quite similar to others in the house.

the lock on the door... pity it not all brass. I think I'll paint the main bodies black, and leave the brass bits.

Stove - waiting for the register plate coming from the blacksmith

more picing out of the door and it has been lightened a wee bit with the dud bleach.

painted the lock body black, and polished up the brass bits

Comparison and of old and new (orig and bought) facings and repairs to the new ones where a door catch has been before
