A new corsa is 8-10k, you're getting the lower end of the vx220 market for that, which although they look, most 18 year olds won't actually buy.

This is exactly what put me off at the beginning of using this site and can only imagen that some people wouldn't have the patience to get past the initial intimadation of it looking like everyone knowing everyone and not being able to break into the community.

And this is why i feel CS is what it is today. The old have stayed, the new have came and put in thier 2 pence found there feet and been intergrated and welcomed into the banter of the old. Problem is some might say it's possibly gotten a bit too arsey and bit to driven towards OEM and other non corsa related stuff that even i might of thought twice about staying if i joined about a month ago.

You have raised two good points in both your posts and it's good to read a relative newbies view of things, but involving yourself in the way you have it wont be long until you are mixed up in the banter with the rest of us.

making the site just for corsas is fine, its a corsa site, but anyone that wants a corsa c goes to ccuk, and anyone wanting a d goes to cduk..

I think you are overestimating the amount of people you think want a change Colin. Ive gone through the thread and im seeing:

You
Davey
Steve
OJC
Paul J

Not really half the members is it?

Aye but some people arent like you jake and get put off VERY easily, we dont need a massive change to get a few of these to stay just a small change in attitude to peoples varying tastes

Corsa-c is one of those sites you need to pay money to do anything, was always crap for info compared to here when I had a C.

Never been on cduk.

I don't want a change... IAN wants it to change. Read it all again.

Ian created this thread as he wanted to delete posts about track action which wasn't solely corsas. That imo is Ian changing how CS has been used for years. We're just offering advice to Ian to help him decide how to handle the change HE wants to do.

Nothing would happen, but then thats because its only you asking, not potentially hundreds of members that have been reg'd on the site since day dot. Anyway its all mearly suggestions & idea's just now, as im sure were all in agreement that something needs doing, however no-body's going to force any change, Ian will do whatever it is that he wants.

so basically what you are saying is. as you are a long standing member you should have a say in what happens to this site? this corsa site, that you want changed?

seems completely daft if you ask me.

i completely understand what you are saying. you are demanding the owner of a corsa site to cater for you. i get it. i just think what you are asking is a bit silly.

this is a corsa site. you are posting on a corsa site. thats all there is to it.

First of all this corsa site would be fuck all if it wasnt for us long standing non-corsa owners support. If you cant be talked round then thats fine, it doesnt mean anything to me but it would be far more commendable if you just appreciated the ideas getting fired around & appreciated that whatever happens will be in the interests of everyone & not those you think are shitfucks for whatever reason.

Thats all I have to say tbh, hopefully i'll be in a better place soon

I agree with everying Colin' said. If we(non-corsa) owners, thats 70% of us fooked off, that would leave only 60 people online right now instead of 200. I reckon it would get pretty boring, pretty quickly.

It's not really got anything to do with that though.

It's hard enough insuring a 1l corsa, 99% of people who have 8k and like vx220's will still be buying a nice new corsa with warranty and not a vx220 that costs 17k to insure.

18 year olds like loads of cars, loads of which will be in budget, it doesn't work that way though.

I'm sure 18yo's would rather have the VX220 too, but they won't buy one, they'll buy a Corsa D/VXR.

60 people online for just a corsa forum?

allcorsa has 25 registered users right now online and if they can hold a bigger stand at trax etc, then this site would still do well.

Neither do I which is why my advice was to ramp up WR to offer as much as this site does, but not focused to a particular brand

exactly my point.. they will buy a brand new car be it corsa or clio or whatever.. they will not buy a corsa B, very old now and there are much better on the market.

i look at corsasport and see long standing members owning them, but as a track toy or because they had one in the past, loved it and want another.

you can limit the forum to just corsas but like i said., there are already sites for the corsa-c, d and all VXR cars.

True mate, 60 users online(all corsa owners) is still a good amount especially since this will grow if CS becomes soley corsa based and new members join.

The other 70% need somewhere decent to go though as at the moment WR, from the name, to the layout doesn't cut it.
