You got an address for the stream? The one from today is just video of the crane presumably from this morning.

Like nothing apparently according to him

No reference points and the fact he was fully suited removed the normal sensation of speed.

What a legend though, to have the ability to completely remove fear and stick to protocol when you are in the lap of the God's free falling to earth blows my mind. He wanted to go supersonic more than he valued his life at that point. Incredible.

No streaming now due to satellite being out of position, thus anyone watching on web only got the first 30 minutes

This is where ojc tells us hitler achieved the supersonic free fall back in 1935 whilst performing his trademark nazi salute. Some might say 'superman' was created based on the event.

Why are you mentioning the Alien's Corp company?
Big difference between this and the fictional company in a film

He had a chute that would deploy automatically once a certian amount of G's were reached as a result of spinning too much.

I'm not sure he did, they only mentioned that he had the ability to deploy a stabilising chute as well as Ground Control.

That makes no odds either way, a parachute wasn't going to save him if he had passed out which was a real possibility at that stage. The spin looked violent on an infra-red camera from miles away, it must have been brutal.

He had an auto release drogue. Considering he couldn't right himself in air that thin though, I don't know if it would have had much effect.

Would have been useful to aid the recovery of the corpse though.

Apparently only 8 million people watched this on youtube.

I expected it to be 10 times that.

How can it be possible for more people to watch strictly come dancing in a tiny country than worldwide people watching something quite amazing?

As mentioned, that was just Youtube; it'd have been many more millions considering there were a hundred or so sites streaming it.

In the United States, the opportunity to watch the jump on TV was limited to the Discovery Channel, though more than 40 television networks in 50 total countries carried the live feed, organisers said.
It was streamed by more than 130 digital outlets.

went into work today and my mate was saying how it wasn't that much of an achievement and that he would do it if he got to spend the 5 years doing what karl pilkington done on an idiot abroad (space training).

i like my mate but he's such a billy bullshitter.

he also thought it was funny that i said i would never forget when he stepped out on that platform and jumped off.

some people are just up their own arse so much.
