Yeah, except you missed the prestige bit before hand 
Lets face it, another couple of prestiges and my fave guns/classes will be completely unlocked from the start, no reason at all not to prestige. Living without a couple of items in the meantime is more than fine, I'm only playing for fun, I'm not heavily concerned about having particular items and hoping i'm paired up with n00bs so I can win a couple of matches

Like I said, different strokes.
I have 6 classes, I use 4 quite regularly depending on the map, Sniper, SMG, Assault and Shotgun. Don't need any more than 6, and don't need to prestige to unlock stuff when it's already all unlocked.
I only prestiged in one COD and that was MW2 and I instantly regretted it.
The only time I'd ever see prestiging being worth it is if it gave you access to something you couldn't have otherwise, a shitty playercard doesn't count.

Well, it gives other options like resetting your stats, extra classes, playcard, stuff like that. Kind of a world apart from MW2 since you get the unlock tokens and stuff. Long and short of it, I'm having more fun than you mate, so suck on that shit

Can't see why I'd ever want to reset my stats, already said 4 classes are enough let alone 6 and it's not hard to see why loosing all the guns, perks, camos and killstreaks in return for one gun and a playercard is a shit deal.

For someone who's only "playing for fun" you're very concerned with what guns, perks and killstreaks you have and the competence level of players you're matched with. Agree to differ on this one, but I'm right.

I'm sitting at home with a broken wrist and nothing better to do than reply on here tbf.
I didn't buy it till a week after launch and I'm currently level 30ish so hardly a hardcore player.
If I played it a lot I'd be more tempted to prestige as I know I'd get back to the top level quite quickly however since I only play occasionally it's much more fun to be able to pick it up and have access to everything.

Thats the point though. Prestiging has always been about losing everything to make the game more challenging.

It doesn't matchmake based on rank at all as far as I know. Rank only really shows how long you've been playing rather than how good you are.
It does try to match people of similar skill though. Whenever I've played at sister in laws on her profile I end up in lobbies full of people with negative k/d because she's pretty terrible at it.

Without knowing the matchmaking algorithm it would be impossible to confirm, I'd imagine it matches on location first, I'm just going off my experience.

As far as I'm aware, its based on ping, I'm sure thats what Gheyarch said even before the games release.

i thought with B.O you had to use an unlock token to get what perk/gun/killstreak etc which you will only get by leveling up so there fore need to prestige to unlock everything? as cant be done with 55 tokens?

part of the fun of prestige is ranking up again. I'd fail to see the enjoyment due to lack of "you're awesome" noises the game will now make. I like awesome noises.

Ranking up is fun the first time as you get to unlock weapons you've not used before and become better. Loosing them and doing it all again however defeats the object for me, I'd rather just keep everything.
I'm definitely getting too old for this gaming lark.

Well, continuing from where I said I started all of a sudden playing well after prestige, it carried on last night. 4 successive KD ratio's of between 3 and 5, all of which had over 20 kills involved.

Well it makes sense that as time goes on you'd get better anyway.
Theatre is pissing me off. Made a mint video last night of me frisbee'ing a betty into someones face and killing them but the damn thing won't put it over to youtube right
