time to make corsa work again

got a new phone it takes decent pics i reckon

strange person with sideburns came to help

doing it on the ramp at my mates bit as its much easier.

vxr james applied some hammerite. sadly he was drunk so there are runs all over it. oh well.

f28 out.

one of the m6 bolts has snapped in the previous version 1 rebuilt pressure plate

the man involved understands that picture.

new bolted together clutch. last one lasted over a year compared to the 5 weeks the helix one lasted.

vxr james had finished with the hammerite

smart. really smart.

so first test didnt go so well. car wouldnt start. bump started it no problem. that will be the starter motor fucked then. found an ecotec one, tried to fit it, but webbing in block was in the way as x20xev block is different cast to an xe. no problem dremel sorted it out, starts great. took it up road to check gears and clutch. seems good.

see how long this homebrew clutch lasts.

then had a fire. listened to some 90s dance music, then went home. grand.

boring sunday decided to make the most of the fact i slept in and didnt go to crail by washing both cars. prepare for an exciting update.

still shines quite well. that autoglym polish seems to have made it easier to wash aswell. the mud came off mostly with the hose.

it scrubs up ok. bootlid is starting to get more and more rust on it. somethnig to sort out in the next few months.

discovered that the dzus clip on that side is a bit knackered which is making bumper sit worse than normal so will have to order up a new one of them.

both cars scrub up half decent though.

stupid finger is in way of the lens on the camera. still getting used to the bloody iphone camera. takes much better pics than my n96 did though hence i posted these up.

thanks for reading. sadly i didnt write coley anywhere on either car today.

Did you do any of the above work or just take the pictures and pay the owner of the garage to do the work??

Barnes will back me up on this, JDM Johnny has skills that none of us posess. . . and a garage with all the required tools. . . but we all take part in everything that is done, be it Barnes Corsa or my Celica or anything else that rolls in.

To say that we simply just pay someone to do the work couldn't be further from the truth!

(Only I do that cuz I haven't a clue!)

first saturday off in a while so got up nice and early and made use of the sunshine to give the corsa some polishing.

used the same autogylm stuff that i got for the vectra. it came out very good i thought. better shine to it than the grey t cut stuff i have anyway. it then decided to rain so all my hard work was undone by the weather. cool.

then went down to see my mates in afternoon.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DCMHjJeUcFQ

jba kit car with 3.9 rover v8 almost finished. sounds like war but i dont think the video does it justice. loads of torque for the chassis to cope with.

also a very cool skoda there. like that a lot.

messing on with iphone camera. pics are quite good. was going to go take some video of the corsa today just didnt get round to it. next week maybe. fixed the knackered dzus clip atleast so the bumper sits a bit better.

clutch seems fine. gave it a bit of abuse and all works good. linkage seems better as i can get 2nd a lot smoother than before as often missed 2nd. so last weeks late night covered in crap was worth it perhaps.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gSyMDEWD-XU

then sat about the hobo fire listening to radio 1 in ibiza. aweseom. trip to ten of the best tomorrow sadly just to watch. perhaps try and get in the team again next year.
