I will happily admit he brought him down etc, definately a penalty in that context. My annoyance is as I said the other day, the penalty is kinda given in lieu of bein denied a goalscoring opportunity, rooney had hoofed the ball out of play before he got anywhere near almunia! i said this the other day foir a peno given to someone when the player had put the ball out of play also
so frustrating

You could say the same about the Eduardo pen though, he had knocked the ball way past the keeper and out of play before he was 'touched'.

Dirty cheating cunts that are Arsenal are appealing this decision. I hope UEFA tell them to gtf and double the length of his ban.
How any club can try to defend what he did is beyond me, if anything they should be coming out and agreeing with UEFA and imposing a fine on him too.
