WTF was your dad wanking over things such as

"Ben, get those doors hung up"

"Ben, i dont like those doors, too cheap, buy better ones"

"Ben, i want a new house because i want a room for mum and dad to sleep in occasionally"

"Ben, stop looking like Rodney"

"No, you cant go out with your friends, i want new stuff for the house"

Strange man tbh.

LOL

jealousy imo. maybe you can save up and buy some doors aswell.

I found it funny, apologies Ben. My doors are braw though!

Wouldnt say that fits either of your criteria.

Lets look at the facts..

1) The market peaked in 2007...
2) The average interest rate was between 4.75 and 5.00 % that year..

B-U-L-L-S-H-I-T..

Those were facts.

Some more facts; Scottish prices peaked in late 2008, I completed in Mar-08, the interest rate was 6.25 at the time iirc.

Don't hate the player, hate the game.

I Live on my own in a barn conversion that I rent, I did live here with my missus but we broke up after 3 years, its costing me about 65-70% of my monthly earnings. I love the place though, its in a great location amongst farmland. I dont have any savings because I can't afford to save but I do have cash to go on holiday and buy stuff I need. I have no interest whatsoever in ever owning my own place / having a mortgage, but hey, thats just me, everyones different.

Pmsl, who the hell mentioned wages?

Graham88 didnt comment on those who still live with parents about how its a bad thing. IIRC you did.

A lot of us would have a house if we given up our social life and worked 9 days a week.

im 23 and still live at home, im one of these that think renting is dead money so i might aswell spend my money on this i want, i will start saving for a deposit for a house soon but everything is so expensive as my brother is just going throught with his first house he had to put down a 14k deposit

my mums like ecks and barnshaws mum that does everything for me washing, cleaning, ironing, sandwhiches for work ect dont ask her to do it she just does it for me so i dont see the rush in moving out

Don't know how it's over really. It just involves living within your means and getting your sights down from an amazing house straight away (which is also possible on 2 ok wages)

I suppose as a couple it is do-able. I couldn't buy on my own though and didn't fancy staying at home until I met someone to buy a house with
