And shes finished

Took me bloody ages to get it setup in the software wizard, hours of pulling my hair out, got it in the end using the right combo of reversing the channels.

I am using a DX6i with this, which traditionally you cannt use the 3 pos switch to switch between GPS modes, however I have mixed the switches to achieve this full functionality on a 2pos switch TX.

I have also set a fail safe up, so if the TX loses range it automatically returns home, I had to use the preset fail safe setup on the AR 7010 RX to achieve this.

Heres two types of battery im using, i may have to switch to the 10inch props for the 4000mah, its quite large.

Also ordered and soldered onto the end of my main battery loom some XT60 connections

And here she is fully built up, the loose wires at the front are for the go pro which i havent installed yet, you will notice I have also installed the ImmersionRC FPV 600mw TX too.

Take off weight, without camera is 998grams so not bad at all, that will be about 1050gr with the cam.

Last but not least a very brief test vid, shows the LED light change when i switch between various GPS modes and failsafes, and then I take off about an inch, but that is all im doing inside awesome, feel the power in my hands, cant wait for the morning light.

Be careful when flying inside, its best not to select GPS mode because it might just fuck off across the house lol!

How come you use XT60's?

no real reason, just that my turnigy batteries cam with them on the end, so rather then cutting two connections off easier just do do it once

BTW when you setup your GPS offset in the Naza Assistant not sure if you already know this but the height-distance from the GPS to the Naza will be Negative and in your case as you've mounted the GPS at the rear the distance backwards should be negative.

Had my first test flight outside. Started off in Atti mode, then switched to GPS hold, flew really nice and smooth, very impressed.

then i switched to Manual mode.

OMG, i nearly shit myself, it absolutely rockets, il try and make a vid later, but im so glad that i got some experience of RC first with the AR Drone as im fairly sure a newbie to Drone flying would stuff this thing in no time in manual mode

Davey, what does a blinking red LED mean on the Drone? as it was doing that most of the flight, is it low battery or something?

When outdoors you should always been in GPS mode, and you should NEVER take off until you have a green only flashing light.

There is no real reason (at the moment) to be in Manual or even ATTI mode .. Keep it GPS until you've got it all dialled in.. Its a lot of money to smash into the ground

Rapid red flashes will either mean an error or your battery is low and its about to auto land.

Also you'll notice when you get some altitude that decending vertically will involve the copter wobbling around like a total mess and feeling like its stuck in the sky, so try and come down in spiral fashion as plenty of nose down will cause a dive and you'll lose altitude cleanly

Another TOP TIP: If it goes into fail-safe or you engage fail safe, to get out you need to flick from GPS -> ATTI a few times and it will over-ride fail-safe.

You might have turned on YouTube's shitty image stabilising when uploading that video. Looks like the whole thing was filmed through water.

Out of curiosity, are you not allowed to fly these in the city? All the videos I see on here are fields. Would be much cooler to see it flying between buildings and cars.

Theres a Jelly effect on the video because of the vibrations.. My props aren't balanced after the quad landed on its head

Theres no real legislation that stops you flying it other than near airports but you need to use common sense because if you hit someone its going to hurt like fook.

I working my way up to a bit more adventurous flying its a lot more difficult than it looks

Another quick vid of the 2nd flight, did a couple of climbs in manual mode so you can see how quick this thing climbs,

A few more tweaks and updates. I have also dismantled the Drone again somewhat to tidy up a few bits and pieces inside the frame hence why there is no top plate attached.

My Spironet FPV antennas arrived, them compared to the stock ones at the top

Fitted them up.

I then cut a thin wedge of EPP to sit under the camera to allow it to tilt forward slightly, and perhaps abosrb some vibration although i didnt get any when I tested it without anyway.

Couldnt come with any better way of mounting it then a good old rubber band

dont worry the ESC's arent normally left dangling like that

Also attached my standalone altitude reader
