Sorry, I must have missed the part where he legitimately passed (on the track) and moved away from Webber before winning the race

he only had the chance to pass legitimately because webber turned his engine down and also didn't use the racing lane whilst going around the corner beause he knew it would end up in a collision.
therefore webber was the wiser and took 2nd place rather than wiping both cars out.

/sigh, another Monday morning and the uneducated F1 office experts telling me how team orders are ruining F1 and that Webber/Rosberg are not real racers.
Ben G has it nailed.
Webber turned his engine down because Horner had "called the race".
Vettel was also told to bring it home second, but despite that went and took the place anyway. It's important to note that had Webber not gone into cruise and collect mode - he would have easily maintained the gap and kept Vettel out of DRS if he thought he was a threat.
Vettel pulled away because Webber was obeying orders and didn't fight back. I reckon there will be a time in his life/career though where he regrets that and wishes he took Vettel out with an over-aggressive defensive move just to prove a point.
This weekend must rock the internal politics at RBR somewhat. All of the engineers/analysts will have loyalties and stuff like this will stretch loyalties thin, and will just enforce loyalty towards the Webber side of the garage. Unfortunately for Webber he doesn't have much weight to throw around... what exactly can he threaten? Leave the team which holds the last 6 world championships? 
The team orders we saw this weekend are VERY different to the "Fernando is faster than you" episode. Ferrari on that weekend were asking Massa to back off and GIVE a place to a slower car. This weekend, both Merc and RBR had let their drivers race up to a certain point - and then once the gap to the car(s) behind was safe they called the race to save engines, fuel and reduce any excess risk.
It's well known that most teams operate a "first one out of turn one is given race strategy" and this weekend was just evidence of that.
It's nice to see Merc can do it properly though, it's those sort of decisions which will win championships at somepoint. Brawn could have maybe communicated a bit better with Rosberg earlier though and explained both cars were low on fuel, and Hamilton had been given a slow delta to recover it. Instead of that, Rosberg was just told "Negative, Negative" in quite a heated exchange - which probably made the situation seem more dramatic than it actually was.
It's also worth noting that Rosberg had about 4 laps of position swapping with Lewis, each time Lewis would concede the position on the first DRS and then simply retake it on the second. Why Rosberg didn't just hold station till' the second DRS and then nail him in that I'm not sure - but I think if he did, he would have had the podium. Brawn called the race after he had at least 4 attempts at taking third, which I think is fair.

Exactly!
I hate team orders, I think they should be banned. But they are here, and they should be followed.
Webber has previously had the opportunity to overtake Vettel, but team orders meant her couldn't and he followed those orders.
Vettel had orders yesterday to not overtake, he ignored them.
If there are going to be team orders, either both follow them, or no one!
Also, fair play to Hamilton, he looked annoyed/ sad that he had taken the 3rd place when Rosberg could have overtaken him. I am not a Hamilton fan, but so far it seems he made the right choice leaving Mclaren.

All you guys are saying is that Webber is a gullible twat with no ambitions to ever achieve anythign
Team orders are nothing to do with it, teams themselves shoudl just not exist. Go wioth the US way like IndyCars and Nascars where owners own 2 cars and run them seperately as 2 cars, much more enjoyable than the usual procession of shite that is F1

Would never happen, but I'd love to see one of their reserves in the seat for a Grand Prix.
I remember Badoer failing in his Ferrari stint after Massa got coiled, and Fisi did even worse. I wonder if they could move Ricciardo or JEV for one race - it would be an opportunity of a lifetime for them to measure up against Wibbah.

think he meant a bubble style wink but could see America Movil becomign a bigger partner. they arent big enough to meaningfully replace the deal McLaren have with us though, suspect McLaren will join the rest of the field in being unable to attract major sponsors and just goign with more smaller ones
