just pissing about with camera options. sadly discovered that the tsw finest alpines wont fit over the brakes properly with clearance unless a fair bit is trimmed off the calliper. decided not to do that and will fit them pirellis to some mo's instead. shame really. shit wheels but saves messing on changing tyres on rims. will get them fired on to the comp's on monday at work.

not really got a lot to do with the corsa at the moment. pretty sure 2nd gear synchro is going so will have to get another box sometime soon. wont change in at higher rpm. its fine at say 4-5k changing in 1st to 2nd. 7500+ rpm it wont go into 2nd. arse. kinda annoying when it boggs down if change early when doing 1/4s.

probably have no updates for a while as generally not much happening and nothing to do/change just yet.

Obviously it's a high powered turbo FWD car but what's it like on corners? Controllable I presume just have to watch when you push the go pedal? I was having a fight on some corners with 260bhp at Combe yesterday so I can't imagine what double that power must be like to tame!

Never driven it round corners so no idea. It won't be very good but there is no competition at a track day so it's just for fun any way. Probably crash.

its a cool car is johnathans mk1

made himself a header tank, had to make the threaded bit for the cap in the lathe.

then it was time to make a dash panel and incorporate a launch control, and then wire the switch up to the dta.

be rude not to test it. fair takes off considering it was a bit wet. maybe needs some more messing on with to get it perfect but works well. then ran it up on the rollers see how the newer engine was getting on.

made 220 ish bhp but a nice 252lb/ft. hopefully the weather stays good for next weekends drag racing.

then set about making a list up of stuff to do before the day out round oulton park that ive booked up to do in the corsa

job number 2 then got tackled.

hopefully stop breaking throttle cables now.

then fitted fire extinguisher back in.

thats how high up the back end sits at the moment. probably want to to lower it down for doing proper cornering.

grand. will get some 45mil powerflow from work next week to use for the screamer back to downpipe. will order up a centre box probably end of the month. going to v-band it in place so can remove it and go back to just a back box once track day is done. would rather combat the 105db limit now instead of assuming its ok and getting kicked off.

rest of the list of stuff to do will just get done at some point before november. nothing major on it really.

traction control and launch control all wired up and switches put into panel on johnathans mk1 escort

catch tank made as a replica of the header tank so stuff kinda matches in the engine bay

modified transit radiator which johnny welded some end tanks on with the correct location for water pipes to go on to.

oldskoooool tracking guages on corsa as hadnt checked it since changing the bushes. it was out so got that adjusted up.

some pirelli cut slicks fitted to some spare mo's for when oulton park time comes around.

then got up nice and early to do some drag racing on the local air field. vids etc up later on once youtube uploads them.

go back tomorrow and do some more i think see what i can break/explode.

nothing much happening tonight no. nothing to fix yet. see what tomorrow brings in terms of breakages. going to smash some boost out the gear part on corsa tomorrow as all it was doing today was leaving massive 11s up the strip in all gears. fastest time was a 12.4 which aint bad for spinning in 4th etc. fastest terminals were 131 in 4th, couldnt get into 5th due to lack of grip.

mk1 escort managed a 13.9 at 98mph. aint bad for a 100k mile engine, std apart from a dta ecu.

see if jdm can make the escort set off better tomorrow. reckon it has a bit quicker to come. corsa will just go and do some 1/4 long wheelspins like today again.

Fastest in car class span length again today 12.3 knocked a few 131 out again but had relatively no grip. Oh well. Jdm escort got a 13.7 today so that's cool. Slick raced his 5 door civic using my pirellis. He got a 15.7. Adam had a stripped out de glassed fiesta diesel with pump wound right up got a 16.7 out of it. Another grand day out down the local. Couple of pics in a bit nothing amazing.
