Today's shopping list. Red microwave, red kettle, red toaster and hopefully some red blinds for the kitchen. Then to fit a sort of clock to the wall in the living room.

guess it depends on the colour for your units. If they are dark I reckon it would look very good.
Found a red blind today but forgot to measure the window before I went out. That will be the kitchen pretty much done then.

Love these. I was looking at that kettle in cream and with the diamond effect earlier. Like the toasters with the dials etc too and I hardly ever have bread!

Yeah it's like old amplifier volume controls, I was sold. Toast turned up to volume 11.
did see the diamond effect ones, it's just a smaller volume kettle was the only problem. Prefer 1.7 litres as its just enough to fill a pan for pasta cooking etc.

As said in another thread, I had red kitchen walls. It made the room look a bit dark and foreign. Would be nice to have red accents like Nic has done.

Not entirely convinced on this yet. The 12 isn't on as I'm painting it red first.
Edit - this is the living room wall behind the smaller 2 seat couch.

Question about kitchen blinds. Window hole is 990 down, 1240 wide.
Can't seem to find any roll blinds near this size.

Don't you have to get a longer one and cut it down?

From reading the specs on roller blinds, the 120 is correct for 124 as it needs 3.5cm for the brackets to fit. I'm on about fitting it into the window not over it if that makes sense.

Just found this pic in my photobucket of when I painted the kitchen. We went through a mad colour phase and gradually everything is going back to greys and purples.

I fitted my roller blinds in the window 'hole'. Bastard of a job if you're doing it on your own. I measured mine myself and wasn't 100% exact but near enough. I do remember reading about leaving room for the brackets so you should be OK there. I had to take my brackets to work to get them cut down as I had measurements were a few mm out
