I've always been a bit hard on my wife for listing this as her favourite film, but also admitted to never actually having seen it.
Tonight I watched it with an open mind as I honestly didn't know what to expect.
It's terrible.
To my knowledge there's never been a more pathetic female lead in any film, ever. She has absolutely no backbone.
How this movie came out in the late 80's and was a hit among women trying to prove their gender as strong and individual as the opposite is beyond me.
The climax of the film sees our hero, Johnny, the poor lost soul who's struggling with his economy because he'd much rather dance all day than take an honest job his dad has lined up for him, swoop in and drag our pathetic heroine, Baby, out of her fathers claws uttering the famous line "Nobody puts Baby in a corner".
Supposedly this is an act of freeing Baby from her fathers leash, but, and this is the real irony, she then ends up quite literally following Johnny's lead, thus proving once and for all that she is indeed weak and completely incapable of making any type of decision, without a man holding her hand.
The cinematography was good.

Unless you watched it when you were a kid you wouldn't understand mate. Seriously.

Argo - 8.5/10.

I'm not a fan of serious films unless they are full of action , so didn't expect to enjoy it, but I thought it was really good. Can see why it won all those awards.

I would probably have scored it higher if I liked serious films

Watched vanishing point this morning. Now watching it again. If you like 1970`s car chases and v8`s it`ll be right up your street although it is abit trippy at times.
Nice to watch a car film without the driver changing 70 gears and the floor falling out.

Django Unchained - Heard good reviews, but I wasn't so sure as i'm not a massive Tarantino fan. However, was pleasantly surprised and so 8.5/10

A Good Day To Die Hard - Big action, completely nonsensical story line. 5/10.

Argo - 7/10

Enjoyable but also not very memorable. They've done a good job of making the tone and visual style of the film seem authentic and there's a couple of intense scenes that I quite enjoyed.
In the end, however, you're left with a feeling that nothing much actually happened at all.

Like I said if you'd have watched it when your hormones were bouncing around the room you'd have a different view, just like Top Gun/Ghostbusters etc etc. They all mean something more because of how I felt watching them back then.

But yeah I like Dirty Dancing

Les Miserables: 8.5/10 very shocked I enjoyed this. Dragged in a couple of places but overall it was fantastic, really moving and well shot.

Predators: 4.5/10 boring.
