wtf! Looks like marble effect wheels now. I've used the autoglym loads of times and it's never done that, surely it'll wash off? Least it'll make you get them refurbed now, they really are gash.
Edit : beat me to it john

it's only the 1 wheel aswell. it's as if it's dried on but i've washed it about 3 times since with all sorts of stuff and it isn't coming off.
jambo - i used wonder wheels to get the brake dust off and fairy liquid in a spray bottle. cleaned them up nicely.

Looks like it's not been lacquered or something and the cleaner has burned through it.

Could well be that. The wheels are powdercoated so wouldn't have had any lacquer on afaik.

are you sure they are powdercoated? powdercoat wont do that, seems more like a cheap spray job that hasnt been laquered

They were powdercoated at lepsons so not a cheap job at all.
I've used the clean wheels stuff before and it was fine so unsure why it went funny this time.

depends on what type of finish you want, my old wheels were powdercoated then laquered to give them as good a finish as spray
also protects them from shit like this happening

Looks like it has dried on. Have you tried to get it off with more wheel cleaner??

Yes. Used wonder wheels (the stuff that goes red/purple) and fairy liquid.

Ben G WTF have you done on both accounts!
I would have gone silver or black on the calipers I think on a car like this this should be subtle. Bright red calipers to me screams evo/scooby/Type-R etc
Obviously the wonder wheels and fairy liquid is a joke but looks like you have used a corrosive cleaner on that rim, probably in the sun and left it on too long?
I use megs wheel brightener and that is never on for longer then 30 seconds. Better to seal the wheels properly once cleaned and usually car shampoo and water is enough as the brake dust wont stick.

Ah well I like them red. If it means I have fake brembo's then so be it. Will impress the 17 year old cruisers I bet.

Sorry I did not list the full range of cars with red calipers
Not all Aston calipers are red. I also think of brembos when it comes to red calipers.
Your wheel refinish has proven to be shit.
Your red calipers draw attention to aforementioned shit wheels.
Apart from dying the roof you are rapidly council estating that Z4
Black/silver hides the shitness of a paintbrush job which is why I did mine black (still better then the brown they went). You have accentuated it by going red, should have stripped them, blasted and powder coated for red.
I can see you buying those fake Chinese brembo stickers now
