8mm surprisingly good.7/10

I dislike a lot of Holywood films circa 97-00 some feel very half arsed. This did have some of that in it but the performances where terrific and whilst corny in places it was very very good.

Remember to watch True Romance. While directed by Tony Scott, the film reeks of being written by Tarantino.

Django Unchained - 7/10

The weakest Tarantino film since Jackie Brown.
Not bad, just lacks a lot of the Tarantino charm and quirkiness.
Christoph Waltz did great for the first half of the film, but was totally outshined by DiCaprio. What an awesome performance by him.
I think it's fairly well know by now, but towards the end of his film DiCaprio's character shatters a glass during a monologue, hereby making a fairly nasty cut in his hand which causes heavy bleeding. This was unscripted and DiCaprio actually cut his hand pretty badly, yet he and everyone else just stayed in character and made it part of the film.

Only problem with Tarrantino is the OTT dialogue that tries to be clever. Doesn't always work for me. Then you have that second rate director Guy Richie who seems to think he can do it too but really can't.

Death Proof is a prime example of trying to fill the film with complex bull shit to hide the lack of storyline.
