Ermm they are but you do get a feel for it quite quickly. I think I was also used to an ST170 box which is also quite manly but precise!

I now find anything else feels like rice pudding though Will deffo be getting a stright 6 with an auto box next

ive jumped straight into my golf gt tdi 130 straight after the riddance of the e46 320cd, and the gearbox is soooooo much better.

i cant believe bmw cant produce a gearbox of this quality. its such a pleasure to change gear.... again

Box on my 350z after a rebuild was tight and you barely had to move it to get in gear loved it

Noticed the more door new shapes are going down in price, would be end of summer if i do sell before the prices go down again otherwise i might aswell keep it until next summer for when they go back up.

box on my impreza sti was very short shift but a little notchy

i think the boxed on MX5s are quite good. but ive just sat in one and played with it at a car auction. never actually driven one.

I remember driving an E46 320d manual and the gearbox wasn't great. The Mini gearbox is a bit crap to get in 1st and reverse too.

aye bmw/mini gearboxes..... same manufacturer....

with them being one of the best manufacturers in the world, amazing how they cant get something like that right. pfft.

IB5 box is one of the best, the one in my Fiesta RS1800 was gorgeous.

i still see this car being driven around today. i sold it 2 years ago. i dont think anythings fallen off.

and it was a 2005 320ci with 40k miles.

i doubt anything would have fallen off it?

Its a 330CI i'm getting rid of mate, I'm not enough of a badman to keep it! Yea I've noticed my manual box is shite tbh, my old vrs was much better.

its a good box but the feel in the likes of the fiesta and puma is largely down to the linkage, its the same box in my mums focus saloon and that feels like a piece of shit stirring a bucket
