Went to see the new Star Trek last night, I think I enjoyed it - but the Cinema was FAR too hot, it must have been 35degrees in there, really ruined the film for me.

New Chiquito's menu though, 11/10 - Pulled BBQ Pork Fajitas, spot on.

Broken City - 6/10 - Slightly predictable storyline, Crowe played a reasonably decent character although i feel Wahlberg let the film down slightly - could have been a lot better if they went with a different actor. Worth a watch all the same.

Hangover 3 - liked it tbh. Went in thinking it was going to be terrible after reading bad reviews, but I enjoyed it. Best bit was during the end credits. 7/10

Watched Batman Begins, The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Returns last night. Seen the first two but wanted a refresher for the third.

Batman Begins - 8.8/10. Really good film.

The Dark Knight - 9.5/10. Fucking brilliant. Would've got 10/10 but that's reserved for films that take my breath away, like Man on Fire.

The Dark Knight Returns - 8.3/10. It was really good, but it just lacked something. Didn't feel as polished as the rest. But still some mind blowing stuff.

Gangster Squad 6/10

Entertaining enough but nothing really outstanding about it, could of been set in 2013 and had the exact same story (adjusted for period obviously), didn't see the relevance of the setting.

OZ The Great & Powerful - 5/10

Seemed ok, only agreed to watch it because mila kunis was in it. From the times i spent awake or not playing on 8 ball pool it seemed decent although the cgi seemed a bit.. Old tech, maybe it was supposed to be like that.

End bit was best part of the film.

Was a good film, hard to follow the previous two though and was a lot more tame, but still a good film.

Side Effects - 8/10

Haven't enjoyed a Soderbergh film this much since Traffic.
Started out as a thought-provoking drama about psychiatrists responsibility over their patients and ended up as an almost noir-esque crime thriller with some fantastic twists and turns.
Watch it if you like court room dramas and detective films.

Flight - ok so the action by was good but I didn't enjoy the rest of the film, alcoholism isn't a subject matter I particularly enjoy watching and it seemed to be almost sensationalised with the cocaine in the hotel scene. 2/10

The Descendents - Wow! Loved it. It was funny, moving, the characters were likeable, the plot was spot on. 9.5/10

The Notebook 7/10

Yeah I know its a chick flick and that guy on here fancies Ryan Gosling, but it was on Sky On Demand so thought I'd give it a go.

Working class country boy chases upper class city girl. City girl caves in and they start going out. Upper class girls parents don't approve and words are said. Working class boy breaks up with upper class girl on account of her going to uni in New York. Working boy enlists in the army and upper class girl gets a part time job as a nurse, who falls for a soldier she was caring for.

Working class boy gives upper class girl an ultimatum and so does army guy.

Was alright, but what really annoyed me were the present day segments where an old guy in a retirement home is reading the notebook to a recluse old woman. Kept breaking up the continuity of the setting.

Its not Drive, put it that way
