if you dont wanna loose the air con, you wont be able to have a decent exhaust manifold on there which will restrict the amount of power you can have.
the air con rad gets in the way, hence the reason for my air con system being in my garage lol

its an sbd exhaust manifold not a custom one.
Speak to Matt (uses a name along the lines of M4tt_C or something similar). He's running about 135bhp from his 1.4
i now have that engine , runs 136 BHP with
Manztle power box
flowed inlet manifold
flowed head
custom manifold
264 degree cams
pocketed pistons
omex ecu

think you should sell the mantzel box and put tb's on, would be a very good power figure for a 1.4 then

explan how a lightened flywheel gives you more power
you can't just assume that all these bolt on actually give you such a power increase

indeed, just because an airfilter gives a potential 5bhp and an exhaust gives a potential 5hp dont expect a definate 10hp increase.

i wouldnt bother wasting your money i wasted soo much money i could of done a 2ltr twice over. Tunning the 1.4 is ok but its very expensive, fuel consumption will go through the roof ( i was getting 60 miles to £10) lacks punch and torque that bigger engines have and jst think there is better things to spend your money on like mayb a 1.6 16v or a 2ltr or just get a better car

Modding for more power is one thing, but losing your comforts as well just isn't good. If having A/C means having a few horsepower less then bugger it! Being able to combat the summer heat is paramount. There is no substitute!

I'm running a few 1.4 16V's on TB's the sound is crazy and the throttle response is very good, but one is in a nova nd the other a corsa sport. the nova is a full stripped track car and is very quick. The corsa can't even beat my g/f's 1.4 8v nova (std engine)
He will be getting his 20XE in the corsa in january, running tbs. And it will go slightly faster than the nova. power to weight is an important factor.
For the money and a weight of a corsa a 2L is the better option.

I've not been in this country long? Your spelling suggests this more of you. Anyway, I suppose you haven't noticed the unusually hot summers WE English now endure? Normally begins around late May and tails off early September time. Those of you without air-conditioning will find this out anyway.
