Scooby vent really wudnt suit my car at all tho - and i'm not thinkin of doin any major body mods to it in the near future either!!
I reckon cool louvres above it, ducting cold air in to the sealed I/C section of the bonnet insulation

stage 3 is a bit optimistic. most i seen a 306 dt up to is around 140, but this had a hybrid turbo and a lot more work. hdi 306 is a different story

should not be hard to get an intercooler to fit and pipe back to the inlet. find out the volume of your OE one

yeah sorry - i totally forgot - it does need a hybrid on the stage 3! But 140 is do-able, although i doubt very reliable, or in fact worth the £1000's it wud cost.
The guy who i turn to had his D Turbo over 150bhp, and over 250lb/trq (including uprated internals).
He then moved onto a HDi with aquamist + whole other range of goodies (including uprated internals again) and was sittin on 188bhp and over 300lb/torque which is just mental - did 0-60 in under 7 sec and with modified 'box was able to do 140+mph, with a 50-70 time which was simply 'extreme'. He was sayin, it was just mad on the motorway, pulled like anything.
But bare in mind it was his demo car(s) to show off what he could do, so it wasnt a case of staying 'practical' with his mods, which took fuel consumtion down to stupid 2.0 petrol car levels.
Matt
PS: HDis are good, much smoother to drive normally, turbos are stronger as std and "plug + play" chippin is available now!! Shame they only came on the later models, most with air con/leather etc :s

now i've heard reactions from ppl, i might just go down the uprated, but still top mounted route, but usin some kinda venting/scoop above.
Will the 2.5m+ meters of piping that i'll need just increase lag and reduce boost?

sod it then - i guess its only really benefitial when u got this engine runnin loadsa boost, bigger turbo etc
Anyone know know of some where that makes up custom I/C's? The ones designed for the 306 are £5-600!!

yeah - but its like a catch 22 situation.
Top mounted gives me better air flow, but less efficient.
Front mounted gives me greater efficiency, but with the extra piping, lower boost and increased lag. Plus the cost of piping etc.
I'm thinkin, bypass the top one totally, and just run a smaller cossie one in my front bumper, but it wud mean havin a real subtle car, with big intercooler stickin out front :s
Would a cossie/RS Turbo I/c provide enough boost cooling for my car, or would i need to calculate current IC capacity etc?

Don't get an RS Turbo intercooler, its not really meant for more than 10psi. You want a Sierra Cosworth one, preferably a 4x4 one as its 25% bigger than the 2WD.
The Escort cosworth had a charge cooler as standard, this may work well, but I don't know what kind of boost you can put through it.
