yer look at the bhp per ton, ull see why the vx is so soddin fast
thry could of made the engine produce more power, but then with just rwd and the fact insurance would be higher+the cost of the car would be higher and they wanted an affordable, rapid car

to be honest, i would as well, if it were my own money.
that's the biggest problem with the vx, loads of people love the thought, but are never really gonna go buy 1. but that said, how does lotus survive?

u cant fault its performance nor handling.....its a brilliant car apart from the vauxhall badge....if the badge was a tvr or something like that they the car (if it was still being sold for 20k-ish) would be the best sports car to come out!

Agreed...would prefer a lotus over one...and to the other post about BHP per tonne etc...the whole car is fiberglass so weighs feck all....

i LOVE the vx220
this would be my next car is i had that option
i manage to have a play in the Crownhill Vauxhalls VX's in Milton Keynes one Weekend
i played with the 2.2 and the 2.0turbo
and i LOVE these babies
they are GREAT fun to drive.
although dodgy to get out of bcoz of the massive width of frame you have to jump over
but very fun, and i think i would personnaly suit driving one of these,

They only have 200bhp approx because they cant fit a bigger intercooler in it.

Tasty cars but dont stand up well to accidents.
Saw one one Thurs, had spun into the central reservation on the A34 and then got hit by another car. VX220 was demolished, was basicly a chassis on wheels, the rest of it was scattered across the carraigeway

There have been loads of fibreglass cars, from Lotus's to Reliant Robins, as long as the structure underneath is strong it doesnt really matter what the shell id made of. It will have had to go through the same crash tests as any other car too.
Personally I'd love a go in the turbo one, wouldn't turn down a go in the 2.2 either like!
