tech 2 is not a diagnostic in such, it is a pre-nostic. it simply says what is wrong with the car, ie if it says 'present 02 sensor' it could still be a mass air flow sensor.

Hang on, i thought the secondary air pump was similar to how the old 12/14NZ engines worked in corsas, in that it pumped hot air from the manifold straight into the inlet to help warm the engine on cold idle? I remember all the shrouding that used to go into the side of the airbox from the manifold cover and it had a valve inside which would control the flow of warm air, if it needed it. For example, under full throttle, the valve would shut to give optimal performance. I thought this is what the secondary air pump was for?

I have removed my egr and I can say it does increase performance in low revs seems more torque, as for putting it back on its a matter of 5 minutes.
