I built my first PC when I was 13/14 years old. A brand spanking new AMD DX4 100.
Like I say, childsplay.

Right so if i were to build a system myself what parts would i need.
So far i've thought of....
512 Mb ram
80GB hard disk
52x Cd RW drive
52x Dvd reader drive
Floppy disk drive
Tv tuner card
Then I know i need a processor and motherboard - but don't know what speed etc. i would be best suited to. The same with graphics cards (i just want something that will play games like championship manager etc.)
Then obviously i need fans and a case and a power supply unit. Is there anything i've left out. If someone could write down a full shopping list of what i'd need that would really help me in pricing up my options. Cheers.

The motherboard is fairly simple get a: ASROCK K7S8XE, good board cheap and can take 400FSB processors.
Get a 2500 processor for now and then in the future upgrade to a 3200.
Memory: get 512mb of the major on third stuff becausr that is just rebranded memory sticks anyway so with any luck u could actually get some samsung chips on it.

The K6 wasn't released until about 1997, I build a cyrix once aswell, such a pile of crap.

Building a system is easy as mate I built my first cyrix 200Mhz, again at 13 odd and it took me about an hour/half to get it running and installing win 95
Anyways, what ya need is:
CPU & Fan
Motherboard
Memory
Hard drive
CD drive
Soundcard
Graphics card
Case & PSU (make sure its atleast a 350w PSU)
Cables
Then monitor, mouse, keyboard etc
Easy as mate
One thing i would say, is read reviews upon reviews for the main stuff (CPU, motherboard) before getting, give you an idea what it can do and what other people have said about it and if there are any bugs or problems with the stuff
