im gonna buy a Civic Type R next year 
all i can say is Cybermonkey must have an issue about ctr's cos he seems to hate em ( prolly been raped in 1 ) and no they dont look like breadvans

id take a CTR over most things nowadays 
me and sooty went to look at one at a honda garage yest (sooty's thinkin about trading his gti for one)

Yes, ^^^ That I agree with. The ones with the white wheels? Look much better, don't have stupid amounts of power which you can't put down.
Never seen a new CTR do a 1/4 mile under 16 seconds

I do not lie, 3 or 4 CTR's running up the strip etc at Santa Pod non got below 16 seconds.
Also around a track the Clio 172 eats CTR's for breakfast.

172 doesn't eat CTR for breakfast from what I've seen and read.
Documented stuff, like Autocar, Civic lapped quicker than CUP, although MX5 won test overall for best performance car in that price bracket overall for enjoyment more than actual times.

They just seem so common, i see one every corner i turn in sunny welwyn garden city. Astra GSi is a much more accomplished car.

astra gsi?? more accomplished than a ctr?? what? with its ''intrusive'' traction control system that cuts in even when its turned off.
ive read many tests of the astra gsi against ctr and other rivals and the astra doesnt even come second best
