Myke - the longer the trumpets the better really. We managed to push back the bulkhead to accommodate these ones. I'd like to have put even longer ones on, but that woul;d have meant chopping right into bulkhead and moving things like heater box, brake servos etc. Also, the lower bulkhead adds lots of rigidity - didn't want to compromise that really

Also looks better if you've had to carve up the dash to fit a rollcage

How much was it and what does it involve?

The dash is flocked - involves applying a layer of felt like covering using electrostatic bonding. Cost about £160 to get it done, plus the cost of stripping it down and carriage

Exactly - should give me around 150lb/ft of torque; maybe a couple more bhp at the top end, but when I have the engine mapped, I'll be looking for a good spread of torque from 4000-8000rpm rather than max bhp at the top end.

TBH, it's not going to be the best 1/4 miler. The Quaife box has a very long 1st gear, with 2, 3 4, and 5 all very close after that. That slows the standing start times a little, though of course once it's on the move, the acceleration is rather rapid. If I put some nice sticky tyres on and dump the clutch at 5500rpm, I'd prob get into the 13s On the plus side, in real world driving conditions, it's much, much faster than with standard box in
