jr, an avro vulcan would whip my tristar, but since the RAF use the Tristar for mid-air refuelling, the Avro Vulcan would never get to its destinations to bomb like the Falkland Islands
Drew, a flare is when you are about 20-30ft above the ground, you pull the nose up and throttle back the power, thus the aircraft can decend onto the main landing gear, and holds that until the plane has slowed enough for the front landing gear to touch the ground.

lol very good. In fact, the RAF used the Victors alongside KC10's for the ong journeys. The Tristar was bought by the RAF as a result of the falklands war to booster the performance of long range air-air refuelling capabilities, apparently.

for black buck 6 (the longest bombing run in history) only victors were used though, but yes, i am aware of the kc10 involvment
