on a similar note, now that i've got my head unit installed i'm looking to get some Focal speakers like you.
After that comes and amp but I'm not sure on what one to go for. Any ideas?
Also, is there anywhere else in the car where i could install the amp? not really keen on having it in the boot to be honest.

lol..
Psg Bonnet. was cheap got it from scott. @illusion autostyle..
my views.. dont bother..
fits crap, psg are shite, took 2 months to get it.
and you have to cut the holes yourself.
otherwise when it rains you could keep fish in there.

ud be lucky..
the work i had to do was as follows.....
1. redo the corners of the bonnet
2. drill holes in bonnet to drain water
3. fit the saftey catch on it (fooking pain to do!)
4. fit the lock
5. mesh it obviously if you drill it.
thats about it...

500 quid for everything
sod focals then mate, there 250 a pair then a decent amp will be around the 180-250+ mark...so thats your whole budget gone already
Best bet would be to get infinity's and get them amped, which will set you back about 200 quid. And then i would get a sub deal package, like a rockford or something for around the 250 mark, which leaves you 50 quid for wiring

nice..
i was thinking about going for what i hat b4..
sounded just right for me.
12" JBL Sub @1000W
350W SPLX amp and the 6x9's ive got in at teh mo, change them for JBL GTO ones.

sell the 6x9s and put the case towards a better amp mate
but like i said, 500 nicker is abit limited for a decent setup, wack another 150-250 ontop of that and you could go for focals, with a JL (or similar) amp for them and a decent sub/amp
eitherway, dont buy cheap wiring, its still as important

wat u want on your budget is...
Focal Access comps - £110 odd
JL 15W0 - £160 - http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=1165&osCsid=f0adc250ff723b85d02cc96da822f63b
JL E400 4 channel amp - £270 - http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=2353&osCsid=f0adc250ff723b85d02cc96da822f63b
Total cost before wire £540, BUT wud be a very good start system...
Use the 4 channel to power both comps and sub,m wire comps to front channels and bridge the rear channels to power the sub. Thats the big advantage with W0's they dont need too much power.

Also why doesn everyone like infinity....
I have heard 3 sets now and they all sounded plain, even compared to my cheapo alpines lol.
Im going for Focal 165 KF's but only as i want a fair bit of midbass.
