cheaper maintance I very much doubt. I'd say Evo anyway, much better potential and more fun IMO M3 is of course more luxury but it depends what your after. Fire breathing rally slag wins for me

and Robbo, I'd get yourself a MINT Tommi Makinen - the best Evo ever built in my unbiased view, already turning into a cult classic just check the resale values compaired to a normal 6/7/8 With the change spared you can do a few choice mods too then that shiny M3 will be a little dot in your rear view mirror

Most decent Tommi's have around 10-20k miles on the clock mate, mines only done 20k and I've used it as an everday car since December. Horses for courses but the TME won't depreciate that much and their pretty rare will pursuade you via msn

A friend of a friend took delivery of his Evo VIII FQ320 last saturday and I have to say its a VERY impressive motor.
We were out dribbling over it just last night, so tis funny to see this post this morning! Especially when the other car there was an M3!
The thing I was a little concerned about on the Mitsi was the plume of smoke and the red embers/sparks shooting out the exhaust when he floored it on the dual carriageways
maybe he shouldnt be ragging a spanking new car
Oh, and from a rolling start he wasnt gaining any ground on the M3....

Mainly due to AYC servicing, end of the day any proper performance car is going to cost. I won't lie, I've owned my Evo since december and so far it's had 2 services (about 250-300 each), new clutch (£1250), new struts (£260) and countless amount of optimax fill ups but every mile gives you the biggest not cheap to run no but at this moment in time I wouldn't swap it for anything I could afford The clutches are pretty weak as standard so soon as that goes uprate it, I've got an alcon paddle clutch with lightened flywheel and it's much stronger. Second and last weakness is the brakes, Brembos yes but they fade fairly easily when spanking it and they are phrone to warping. I'm upgrading to AP 6 pots on the front, much better but not cheap
