i just dont see the point of doing away with the rear seats to fit MDF flooring
It just makes your car a 2 seater, without the weight saving
rip it alllllll out

Rally cars have to keep the dash in some sort of condition so that should you roll it then its not going to slice your legs open. So your best to either leave it alone which looks best or to pull the lot out and mount the instruments onto the bare shell.
As Adam says, there is no point in making a look-a-like as you just look like a twat. Make it the real thing or dont do it.
And PLEASE dont make it "another" 2.0 conversion...

was only goin for a 2.0, as i can get hold of a 2.0 8v enigine for free. If money alloys id much rather get throttle bodies on a 1.4 16v / 1.6 16v engine.
I really like the look of adam_b's car, kinda std, but very cool.
Inv response to adam and stark motorsport, I no where you are comming from when you say "do it properly or not at all"
Its just that at the moment a fully modded 1.4 is all i can afford insurance wise. I could insure a 1.6 in std form, its when u have modds the ammount of companys that cover you drops, and for the companys that do cover there v.expensive. So its only gonna be a 1.4, so hardly a rally car, thats what made me think of the in between option (of subtle body mods eg meshed std bumper, 15's and the interior.)

not all rally cars are 2.0 turbo monsters.
perhaps you should "look deeper into the rallying scene mate..."

I rally a 1400 8v Nova ands I'll tell you now, l'll keep up with or beat 2.0 Corsas! As Tomas suggested, have a look at power to weight ratios rather than big engines on their own.
