Pisses me off that...the court can never see things in the eyes of the victim (in this case shelly's friend).

I dont think ur friends got much to worry about then...and coz if was a first offence, it shows that it was totally out of character to do it.

If he's got no previous, and by the nature of the attack, i can't see him getting a custodial sentence. Probably a Community Punishment order or a Community Rehab order, and compensation/court costs.

Ive never seen an ABH case carry over 18 months in my experience at the court.

It doesnt sound like he had much wrong with him to be honest, just bruising from where he got smacked with the steering lock.
