They dont make the GSi in a 2door coupe, only 2door hatch. The 2door coupe 2.0 Turbo had 180bhp and the GSi hatch, 200bhp, from what i can remember anyway!!

There was a GSi up the pod the other day, best i saw it run was 15.8. The Astra VXR is gonna be streets ahead of the CTR i'd imagine, the new Astra GSi is gonna be more like the CTR and the VXR not far off cossie power, but expect it to be front wheel drive

It actually happened on my way back from collecting the car. Some asian driver on the M20 in a astra was right up my ass. It was only a 1.4 astra but he was trying to drive it like a porsche. I slowed down to 60 then proceeded to plant my right foot down in which he looked a bit fuming

I'm not to keen on the GSI tbh, just seems a bit to much money to hand out for not alot of car, that kinda money would get you something jap and very quick

Porsche beater just go with your instinct I opted for a jap car because i have always wanted one. Have you tested a CTR yet??? I would suggest driving a CTR before you make your decision because you know how tempting VTEC is

sooty, the 197bhp model was the GSi, hence why the GSi's are more expensive than the rest of the range, by some margin, what with them being newer aswell. The GSi did only come as a 3dr hatch, not a coupe. They did a 2.0 turbo coupe, but wasnt up to the power of the GSi.

The Astra SRi Turbo was released on 1st May 2002, with only 500 of these being built specifically for the UK market.

It is based on the same specifications as the Astra Coupe Turbo but in hatchback form, with the addition of a body kit by Prodrive.

Reported performance figures from Vauxhall were 0-60 mph in 7.0 seconds and a top speed of 149 mph. Officially, it produces 190bhp, but the engine's average output is more like 200bhp.

The chassis benefits from stiffer, lowered springs and uprated gas dampers. Electronic aids include ESP, ABS and traction control.

The car is available in Flame Red, Sapphire Black or Star Silver, and sports a distinctive rear wing, plus the Prodrive bumpers and side skirts.

Inside distinguishing features include a Coupé-style white dials instrument panel, as well as sports seats and a gunmetal-coloured centre console. The car was released as a 'no-options list' model, but comes with with air-con, a VDO CDR 500 headunit and electric windows and mirrors all fitted as standard.

yeah thats the one... the gsi was brought out after as a sort of daddy of the range... ecotec put out fuck all these days, but a 2.2 turbo would have more than 190bhp
