Well yours will be a Rev1 then with 168 bhp...Rev2's had 168bhp...the rev3's had an engine bhp upgrade to 178bhp...so the rev3's had the most powerful NA 2.0 engine toyota did...

They are in general for this type of car...but not ALL Jap cars parts are expensive...

ooo ta for that, i was reading some website from 1998, did wonder if there was another with more bhp then mine as i saw rev3 on auto trader a few times.
cheers for that. still cant complain, tis what i wanted, as for parts and cost, i know people in covernty were i can get trade price and fitting cheap like
fancy a cam kit, decat, induction and superchip hehehe.

Handy about the parts for you then....I paid £140 for an alternator then fitting of £40 (that was cheap)...
Major costs are going to be Cambelt at around £250-300 (pain in the arse to do)...clutch which I had done cost me £95 for clutch and £140 fitting...and exhausts id they go...

zost is s/steel and covered for life, alternater is new, cambelt done last service, clutch done 9 months back.... just tyres LOL

Thats a 154BHP model, same year as my mate had. And its just a straight GT, the GT-S is only avaliable as a jap import turbo.

There is no 168BHP engine that year. But I have got it wrong, its 158bhp. The only time there was a 168bhp engine is when the emisions laws were changed and the 174bhp was restricted a little to meet them.
Anniversary models, G-Limiteds etc didn't have different engines to the current range.
I'm not trying to upset you, my friend had a black one in the same year, 158bhp and it was plenty fast enough since he went from a Nova SR to the MR2.
