yes - that is far more humane than them being ripped apart. A gun shot to the head would be instant and painless.....it works for cattle so why should it be any different for Fox's? If a species has to be culled it should all be done in the same way......as humanely as possible IMO

Can't shot foxs with 12 bores, would have to be a rife which is dangerous, plus the fact you can not ensure it dies if you have a bad shot, and could bleed to death suffering for ages.

At least the fox is dead with second/mins with dogs

there actually breaking the law if they go out on land without permission!!

not up here MoFu no law of trespass

whatever they were doing it scared me and my passengers, and my m8's granparents in front.

i would have run out and twatted one of em mate there the ones who give it a bad rep

I would have too

if that was the case and it's all about the ride then why are people getting upset about it. I suspect you need to STFU and deal with the fact that using dogs to chase a fox with the intention of killing it is a cruel sport not hunting.

sounds like you dont know much about what your on about pal, why say something like that without knowing all the facts, the ppl who actaully hunt the fox at the front of the pack,(where the other riders arent actually aloud near) are trained professional game keepers most of them workin in a local area for years before being aloud to "master" a hunt,
ITS ALL A SOCIAL DAY OUT PAL,OUT OF 100% OF PPL WHO ATTEND A HUNT 40% OF THE GUYS ACTUALLY GIVE A TOSS ABOUT THE DAYS HUNTING, THERE JUST THERE TO RIDE THE HORSES THROUGH THE COUNTRY!!

i could giv a toss wether we got a fox everytime but i feckin love blattin about on a 400cc quad bike for the day!

you need to know alot more FACTS before you say things like that ,as those comment are why its being banned!

well lets see

people chase a fox with dogs, fox gets tired and slows down, fox gets ripped apart by dogs.

if people were just in it for the ride about the country side and the social aspects then the ban would actually have no effect.....

p.s please stop calling me your pal as I have no wish to be associated with the likes of you

I dont see the problem with fox hunting.....its a sport like any other yes sometimes if they catch it a fox will get killed but then what about all the livestock killed each year by foxes and now because of this law the thousands of hounds that will be exterminated due to no longer being required?

most people that are against it know nothing about it and don't know the facts, they just say 'awww the poor foxes' when its not about hunting foxes at all these days, yes some are toffs, but you have to respect TRADITION and stop being so narrow minded

unfortunately when "hunting with dogs is banned", what do u fink the'l then kill them with alot nastier things than a hound breaking its neck in 3 seconds, i.e possibly chemicals, shooting ,netting, smoking, they could use any of those v,cruel methods to KULL not MURDER a fox, and the ponces will still go out exersizing there horses and to socialise just minus the hounds !

Exactly, the people going on about the poor foxes, dont think about the hounds...? they are trained to kill foxes, they aren't domesticated as pets and it will not be easy to re home them all

Can't Poison as you can not gantuare you poison foxs, hence why rat posion traps only have small holes.
Shooting would be dangerous as you have to us a rife and could injury people, plus it is quite hard to shot something dead in the head, in fact you are trained to aim for the body as it is a bigger surface area,
Netting again you can not ensure you only get fox's.

Anyway you hit seals over the head with clubs in scotland

beagles, learches and other breads bred into hunting, is not safe to rehome as they could be viscous or get bored in a confined space! it wouldnt be ideal, i know from my uncle that if it comes to it his 200 will be gassed!
IT WILL BREAK his heart!

There pack animals trained to hunt from day 1.....they could never re home them....I think they should give them to the people that voted this in and let them deal with it....suited up wankers!

only one in 5 hunts ends in a fox being killed anyway, even then, a healthy fox is rarely caught, they are usually old and/or injured foxes

fair point vibrio if your not interested in it them y the feck should u respect someone else tradiotion, its like tellin a christian to belive like a hindu, it aint gonna happen! the poor fact is that inside the hunting circles, there is a minority spoiling it for the majority!
not enough "outsiders"are educated on the matter well enought to base a realistic opinion!
and the countrysides been doin just fine being looked after by generations of these ppl for hundreds of years,so way change it now!!!

Yeah but thats the ones they show on telly

for example you when ever a bomb goes off in an arab country we get some sucide bomber on telly 'saying death to the west' and vis visa in the arab country they most likey get the grand high dragon from the KKK saying 'I think i gona burn some darkies'

When ever somethingis on telly and they want to get your emotions up they find the extermist.

Ok, a fox is like a small dog within reason, so lets get a small family pet and chase it through the countryside before ripping it apart, better than letting them shit all over over the pavements.

Ban fox-hunting in my opinion, were not living in the dark ages anymore, theres no need to retard ourselves to an age when running round the countryside was the only thing to do. This is the 21st century now, lets act like it and just drive fast cars instead of praying on defenseless animals and let nature take its course with them instead of us intervening.

you cannot rehome a hound ito becoming a "pet"
its cruel for the animal
unless maybee farmers took them on, but u still wouldnt let them run free as there natural killer instinct would come in???

this argument could go on forever as there a 3 types of ppl here

people who know something valuable
people who know jack shite
and people like vibrio who think they know it all, and will take the defensive in responce to anything constructive ever said on the subject!

Yes but sheep, cattle any livestock is not nature, they are they for us to eat, and foxes damage these. If you had several 1000 pounds worth of stock and some so called familiy pet wrecked it time and time again you would just leave it?

TBH every comment vibrio has said for once makes sense and is correct

its not a sport, what killing is a sport, there is a difference between fishing and hunting easily,

and they say that it ruins their life banning hunting its not a job its a hobby, as is cleaning out a barn and cleaning a horse.. get a proper fooking job ffs
