it shoudl flash once then a break, then twice then a break, do this 3 times thats the starter code!
Then it will go through the sensors and find the fault, i.e
33 would be:
3 flashes a pause and 3 more flashes
pause
it would do 3 flashes pause 3 flashes
3 times in a row and then repeat the 12

i had taped the chip from the key to the transponder around the ignition barrel. moved it around and managed to get it working, think it is just sensitive

The gearbox speed sensor has nothing to do with this. You have an immobilizer problem with either the key or the pick up ring around the ign barrel. Normally a key that is not coded to the pickup ring will still start the car but then cut out instantly. Does your car start then cut out? If it does not then you need your car on tech2.

would the fact iv taken off the secondary air pump and egr valve cause the EM light to come on and stay on when it is running, sounds ok, or would no exhaust cause this also?

It dont have to be in the key it can be sellotaped to the transponder

sticking it in the key would be the safest most reliable option imo
kinda like where its sposed to be
cos if the sellotape undoes after time,
the chip falls out
you aint gonna find it

yes you need to blank it off and then plug it back in to make the light stay off permanantly
