WTF they allow you to take a passenger?
I saw a punto take a full car up the strip

I have had this argument with loads on here plenty of times...
There not lightning but there faster than people on here make out...and std for std would beat any 1.4 16v Corsa...

No, blatantly they are sh1te slow, accelration from 0-60 there is nothing it between many cars, get above 60 and the Zetec-S is toilet, terrible I went past one on the M25 when I had my GSi like it was going backwards.
Sly, I saw you earlier must have been when you were filming by the new junction going towards Asda side by side with a black Zetec-S with white rear lights.

i loved my old zetec-s handled really well only thing which let it down was that it wouldnt do 60 in second which really slowed the 0-60 time down

I agree with everything you said...I was about 3-4 mph under 60 when the 3rd gear change is needed...
Would be a lot quicker if it would do 60 in 2 gears

my Sport 1.6 had no problem with them in a straight line, used to pull past after 60 no problem

my old z-s had 122bhp and 118lb/ft (power engineering). broster was there on the day so he can vouch for my result.
it only had a gay pipercross. all the standard ones got 120bhp.
mine had 125bhp/tonne
the newer, heavier, less powerful mk6 z-s was tested 0-60 as 9.3 by a car magazine.
the mk5 (not keen on the mk6) is all about handling. voted 7th best drivers car in 2001. number 1 was the racing puma. it also beat the gsi and vts in the top gear reviews and on the old top gear programme.
i miss my old car. i've got £15-16k to spend on a new car and i'm finding it hard to choose a replacement.

we are talking about the Corsa B GSi, not Corsa C SRi. My Sport could manage 0-60 in 8.7 seconds.

you didn't get what i was saying. the mk6 z-s does 9.3 to 60
so the mk5 will be quicker because it is lighter and has more power
there is about a 0.5 difference in secs between the mk6 and mk5 so a mk5 would do it in around 8.8
