There are more similarities than you might think, however periodic the recruitment. Either way, you say it like every new person wants banning. We're getting 100 new people per month (and thats include expiring old profiles - would be nearer 300 without) and you can count potential ban candidates on one hand.
Its not an overwhelming problem.

difference is there ian, academic places have a fixed group of people over a period of time, forums however can have somebody new every second who dont know the rules and regulations, the way i see it you will constantly be banning people and not really getting anywhere
whats your point though? this is obvious. Its just the way it is and always will be, we cant change this.

this is my point, so why bother to try

To be honest if you want to keep the new ones you need to stop the cunts that take the piss out of them on there " Hi, this is me and this is my car thread"
What about an intro, or a welcome room?

its been like that for ages, there must be a vast % of people that dont have a corsa,
and ontop of that youve got people that have never had a corsa. These people i dont really understand why they are here

I didn't say "just seems like people don't come here for the corsas anymore" though...TBH it doesn't bother me in the slightest when people choose to discuss other makes and models of cars, that said it does grate on me to read numerous "corsas suck" threads, not so long ago I saw a good post by Mav about how it seems no other car enthusiast clubs/websites seem to slag off the very cars they were created to cater for.

it may be my almost drunken state...but dont it make u feel gud knowing that u havent been banned as a wanker? back handed compliment or wot but on a more serious note it has got a lil quiet...i think most peeps are trying to pull out amazing ideas as alot has been done/said/slated before...we are merely waiting for the next big thing in a corsa-fashiony kinda way

yes but then that crap will be directed in here then, if you get rid of offday you need to get rid of the users that have a % of higher than 75% postings in that forum
think ian should create a rule that if your offday % goes higher than 75 you get banned

i wrote the exact same thing a few weeks ago. Off day is just a scab on the sites back.
The idiots that 'live' there should form there own drivel site. http://www.corsasport-offday.co.uk
keep it off here.
Moderation could be better here. Thats not a straight out jibe, just an observation.
There are alot of post in GC that should be elsewhere. Mod and Tech forum is lagging as alot of the Q's may be getting asked in here.... maybe people are even learning to search.
I have no problems with Ian/Tim handing out bans left right and centre if it rids the site of useless 'what did you have for lunch' and 'will pugnut get with charlene' type posts.

seen a couple of replies with the 'half the people dont own corsas' etc etc. I may not, but there is a good reason why ive stayed here and continue to renew my premium membership. I joined this place for info and help when i did have a corsa, but thats not all that there is to this site. I have met some fantastic people from here, some great friends and its a tribute to Tim and Ian that despite not owning a corsa, people stay and continue to post on here. Im a big hater of the Off day too, even though i do post in there now and again. I like this site, ill stay a member for as long as im allowed but lets not blame Ian and Tim, at the end of the day its the users that fuck this site up, not them.
My solution would be to get trusted members as mods, scrap off day and get the real members posting about cars again

I agree with Stuart - if you have knowledge of corsas, or vauxhalls in general as this comes in handy for conversion q's etc, then it doesnt matter if you aren't currently driving one.
People who have never owned one or have no discernable mechanical or practical advice but talk crap all day are the ones who clog up the site (Pug Nut for instance).
On the other hand, when you consider the size of CS, it's inevitable that people aren't going to get along, or you'll get a handful acting like goons. It's something that you can just accept and move on from, or get all upset and whinge about. The general cross section of people on here are a good bunch, it's been a long time since we had a character like that "Mr. Whippy" fella, who came on solely to abuse and insult. I'd rather have what we have now with some background noise (aka Off Day) than that tbh...
Think thats all Ive got to say for now...
