Yes, you plead guilty by post, if they give you just a few points and no ban then they write back wih their verdict and you get your points without going to court, if they decide to ban him or give him the points to take him upto a ban they cant do it throught the post, he will have to go to court. i think.

iv got a bus pass thanks. over the past month i have bought a few cars and have realised driving isnt for me. this incident is from the beginning of the year. iv only driving for about a month since then

There is a clue to my identity in my username  No door cards is one thing, A lack of wheel nuts, loose seat bolts etc is just plain stupidity. If you fail to understand this then you need to be removed from the roads for your own safety if nothing else.
That's all I have to say on the matter - I really can't be bothered arguing a case which is so clear cut

the car was not a deathtrap.
the only dagerous faults was the tyres and the wheel bolt.
the rest was just cosmetic eg, a bracket had bent that held the bumper on,plastic clip had broken on the light. there not exactly dangerous.. theres worse cars on the road
give him a break he knows he has done wrong..

i had one wheel bolt missing on my car, it does not make it unsafe.
From what you said there is alot wrong with the car and the bald tyres loose seat belt is a danger to you and other drivers on the roads but ignore the few on here which have nothing constructive to say i bet there is a handful of people on this site who has a few things missing here and there
