it cant handle the compression.... its running 11.5:1 and the starter motor just dies... the map needs playing with still to make it start better but its pretty good.

thought that but wasnt 100% sure, what about one from a higher spec model or somewhere in the vaux range

i dont htink any will be rated to cope with the compression... killed 1 starter last night at 2am lol! dont want to kill this one!

would one off one of the turboed vaux not work, as they have to deal with a higher compresion ratio ????

turbos would run lower compression off boost

the boost creates high compression

don't turbos have a lower compression? also do they all fit the same? anyone got a copy of epc lol!

ooh trick little feature my ecu will fun launch control (need to get a abs wheel and sensor for that tho) and full throttle gear changes... ace! and my old ecu light is not my shift light! wick!

I would hazard a guess that all small block starter motors are the same...

i would also be willing to go with that, although the diesel ones may have a higher torque rating as they have to cope with silly compression ratios

Nice one mark, mine is in jamsport now
My engine i was intending to get rebuilt is fooked, so im gettin a refub engine, from jamsport for £1k and then were seeing what we can do, as my budget was 2k. Might be a long process, im looking a tb's aswell hehe quoted 2k for the kit. You pleased with the work mate?

i've seen it

wait a while for the tb;s dude, dont try and stretch your budget, just get the 1.6 done and some decent mods like lexmaul induction, an exhaust manifold etc
