given my experience of write offs my insurance company used autotrader and basically did a search within 60 miles for like for like and paid out based on that

funny thing is i told them i paid 4k for the car a year prior and when he looked on trader there was only one within 60 miles and it was 5k so he gave me the 4k no questions asked

gutted for you though as others have said it was one of my fave corsas

dont what ever you do under estimate insurance!
tell them you bought it from a forecourt dealer not a private sale and tell them you paid xxxx amout make sure its a good value you would accept
when the gf's got smashed up we only paid £1500 for it
told assessor we paid 2k for it
he looked in trasder etc at private sale cars only and found them for 2- 2.5k
if we had said 2.5k we would have been paid 2.5k but because we said we paid 2k for it we didnt get a penny more!
even better say it was bought for you and you didnt ask how much they paid for it from a local forecourt!
good luck bud

could always buy a very basic white corsa. then just transfer everything from your broken car?
