I hate to be wise after the event but a 12 year old modified car should possibly have been on the ramps before you parted with your cash.

that supercharged one that was broke was in classifieds for a while and on ebya at one point he was breaking it and selling the engine..

if u carnt afford to get the cv joint fixed and its just the inners buggered then get a second hand drive shaft and change the inners...

Exactly what I thought!
Goint to call Wallace on monday as they were meant to of fixed it and see what they have to say coz it if was fixed they didnt make a good job of it

ive changed the inners on one of my cars, it went on a bank holiday monday needed it that day found a scrappy, n got a driveshaft for a tenner, planned on just fitting the drive shaft it was the wrong one so just changed the inners, must admit it was a bit of a bugger.

Something similar happened to my car a few weeks ago & it was the CV joint.

Doesn't sond like the thing you mentioned though, its not a half circle thing......
