alternator stays on, just the bottom mount is removed and this replaces it

pmsl, yes id rather have my car done properly, i dont mind bodging head gaskets and timing belts and engines int omates cars (with their help)

rang Uk autocare, said they would be able to do it charging an hours labour, i really dont know what im doing so it is probably best i got someone to do this for me, ive got a belt for a 1.4 16v without PAS or AirCon here too

Except the bolt that goes through it its like a bolt with a bit of thread on the end that goes into the bracket thingy.

jesus mate... you just put a new engine i the car tackled all the wiring problems you had and sorted that and now you wanna throw in the towel on swaping over a bracket.... pityfull! 
the bolt that goes through it is the same as the 1.6 one... just use that...

Your confusing me now, i take it that it replaces a bracket that is all ready on there it doesnt simply bolt to the existing one... and is will all the bolts all ready be there needed ... everyone... cause if they are i can go get it fitted now

I always do Phil , although there is no water/ antifreeze in the header tank got a leak somewhere that needs investigating.

righty.... bolts you need....
bolts to hole the bracket to the engine... use the ones that are holding the exsisting bracket to the engine...
bolt to hold the altenator to the bracket... again use exsisting bolt...
bolts to hold the tensioner to the bracket...
use the ones out of the 1.6 tensioner...
think thats it

there isnt a 1.6 tensioner...there is no tensioner on it at the moment except a bodged angle grinded 1.2 one

Which is in a totally different place to where the one im putting on is going and the bolts were to small ..
