right theres sum spec differences depending whether u get a 1.8 or 2.2 etc.

i'm 99.9 percent sure u only get cruise control and trip computer standard on the 2.2's over the 1.8 engine.

was a debate about this on astrasport before

Thats what i thought
I would get the 2.2 but insurance is going to be an issue.

So there is no computer or cruise control on the 1.8's unless they were bought as optional extras?

Ok cheers buddy.

Not seen any 1.8's with heated seats either.

Any options that are easy to retro fit? like would the Astra SRi have a computer that would be easy to fit in?

1.8 engines have belts, and are due every 40,000. 2.2's are chain driven

none of the se's have heated seats as they are alcantara .

heres the spec list for the SE 2
http://www.vmproductforum.co.uk/serve.aspx?file=/articles/474-1-astracoupe_spec_SE2_02.pdf

]note the 2.2 gets cruise and trip comp, 1.8 doesnt get it.

Doug:

I also own a 1.8 SE2, so i'll shed some light for you:

Heated seats came in all coupes that had full leather seats

SE1/2 1.8 came with a close ratio gearbox & 2.2 has trip computer, cruise control & climate control but no close ratio gearbox.

Also there are two different 1.8 engines, X18XE = 115bhp, Z18XE = 123bhp

1.8 is insurance group 9, so nice & friendly

Personally think the 1.8 is a good engine & has lots of go in it, I also recently let Brosters g/f take it out for a drive as she's hunting for an SE2 aswell

Thanks

So If I get a non SE coupe that means I wont get that blue interior? (not a major fan of it tbh)
I saw a black one on auto trader with full leather interior, so that would have heated seats?

Apart from the interior colour is there anything different to the SE's?
They all come with aircon and traction control as standard?
