The way that that Evo has been designed is for a steel monocoque. The way that a formula one chassis has been designed and the way that the carbon fibre is layed up on the monocoque allows for carbon fibre. Also, in a formula one chassis you have a layer of carbon fibre, then packing material (i.e. aluminium honeycomb) then more carbon fibre to prevent the chassis from folding in half.
